Methods are described for cadmium, lead, copper and zinc determination in foods by normal and cathode ray polarography. Sodium
acetate and pyridine chloride are the two suitable supporting electrolytes for these determinations. Calcium, magnesium, barium,
strontium, phosphate, manganese, nickel, cobalt and tin do not interfere at concentrations below fifty fold the copper, lead, cadmium
and zinc ones. The methods give lint its of detection of 0,2 p.p.m. for each element with 5 g food sample
